Abstract:

I will introduce a sequence of explicit blow-ups and blow-downs on an irreducible compact Hermitian symmetric space X making use of loci of chains of minimal rational curves and the variety of minimal rational tangents. The construction is independent of classification and transforms X into a projective space of the same dimension, resolving a birational map given by Landsberg and Manivel.
