Abstract:

I will talk about a stability result for integral two-varifolds with square integrable generalized mean curvature. We show that if theL²-norm of this mean curvature is sufficiently closed to 16π, then the varifold isW^{2, 2}-close to a round sphere. In the smooth setting this result was first shown by DeLellis and Miiller for surfaces in the three-dimensional Euclidean space and later by Lamm and Schätzle in arbitrary codimensions. This is a joint work with Jie Zhou.
