Abstract:

The mathematical Gromov-Witten theory is related to the physical theory of topological strings. First we review some physics background and mirror symmetry at higher genus. Then we consider refined topological string theory on compact elliptic Calabi-Yau spaces. We use refined holomorphic anomaly equations as well as Wilson loops for the physics calculations of the topological invariants. The results are checked with some independent mathematical calculations.
