Abstract:

In 2002, G. Perelman introduced the F-functional and the W-entropy on Ricci flow and proved their monotonicity. This plays an important role in the final resolution to the Poincare conjecture and geometrization conjecture. Since then, many people have extended Perelman's results to various geometric flows. In 2020, we found an interesting relationship between the Perelman W-entropy, F-functional and the Shannon entropy power N in information theory. In this talk, I will give a survey on the study of W-entropy and Shannon entropy power on Riemannian manifolds, Ricci flow and RCD spaces. Joint works with S. Li (Renmin U China) and Enrui Zhang (AMSS CAS and UCAS).
